Altered Journal book cover

Hello friends, sharing my latest work an altered a journal book cover. Love the rustic outcome. Joining following challenges with this project.

1) More than words: Inspired with the challenge word BOOKS, I have rescued and  altered an old song book. The pages have worn out but I plan to make it into  a beautiful art Journal book. I have used some of the worn out pages and use it over the front cover to fulfil the next criteria, book pages. This is a gift to self with love.

Here is my altered penstand steampunk inspired theme.

Entering my project at Challenges:

1. Mixed media academy: inspired by the moodboard colors and the little memories quote, I choose this steampunk fish design. Every year late autumn we go fishing with family and they become fond memories to cherish. However, this year it is not gonna happen due to the current pandemic situation. I am hopeful though that this will also soon pass and we can enjoy life once again, engaging in activities that we love.

2) Creative embellishments: Inspired by the mood board elements: the old window grills, I have made the body of the fish like the grills and finish the look with a patina- rust effect.

1) SPLASHYMIX: Inspired by the beautiful moodboard and friendship theme I have created my project. The beautiful floral display in the moodboard inspired me to create a floral arrangement around the basket handle.Friends add colours to our life and the colourful moodbaoard also inspired me to make my project as colourful as as possible. In tribute to friendship theme I have made a simple floral tag with the quote, " If friends were flower, I'd pick you."

Friends forever mixed media layout

 "Friends forever"mixed media layout:

1) More than words: When we spend time with our friends and love ones it is so relaxing. Given the current situation spending time with our friends and family has become in itself a luxury because we are trying to maintain social distancing and most of our friends and family are on isolation/ quarantine. All are trying to do the best we can so that when its over , we can chill out once again together , unwind and relax.

2) splashy mix: We all grew up playing with our favorite toys with our childhood friends. Some memories and friends of childhood remain with us forever even when we grow old. My children enjoy playing in the porch with their toys along with their friends. A random shot taken while they were playing. Made this layout to capture the moment, the memory and the friendship.

Hello crafty friends, sharing another of my project. This time it is an altered frame with  lovely pop of colors. The main highlight of this frame are the handmade embellishments using collage sheets and sequins from my stash.I got them @papericious and they are adorable.  As crafters we are all guilty of hoarding so many stuffs and here I share some tips on how we can use them differently.

Created those dome shakers with papericious collage sheets. finish with handmade flowers and cutout elements.
Current Monthly Challenge

Inspired by the friendship theme and the bright colors, I  have created this project. For me friends are like umbrella  that keeps us dry and protects us from rain. Friendship is represented by the umbrella embellishments used in the altered frame. Good friends are a blessing, they are there for us through thick and thin.
